I’m a straight girl who watches lesbian porn, and I’m not the only one

Boys just ruin it

| UPDATED noad

There’s a myth going around that women don’t watch porn. It’s wrong, of course we do.

Studies suggest that over half of women watch porn, and this probably still leaves out the huge proportion of women who do watch it but won’t admit to it. The brutal truth is that women like porn just as much as men, because women like sex just as much as men.

But when so much porn these days is male oriented and sometimes even offensive to women, there must be a type of  porn out there that all women find appealing.

This is where lesbian porn comes in.

Unsurprisingly, it is one of the most popular male searches on popular porn sites. However, almost unbelievably, a study by Pornhub suggested that women search for lesbian porn 132 per cent more frequently than men, making it the most common female search on the site.

I’m definitely not alone

This figure is so overwhelming that it can’t just be lesbians who are watching it: it’s straight girls like me too.

Why is it so appealing? Almost all heterosexual porn is conditioned to male fantasy and male fantasy is scary. I don’t want to watch a girl being aggressively fisted up the bum, it petrifies me. Lesbian porn is less threatening: it’s safe, non intrusive and, generally, fairly gentle.

Secondly, we only have to compare a girl constantly receiving oral sex in lesbian porn with watching a girl give a blowjob in heterosexual porn to understand the appeal: I cannot relate to a man receiving a blowjob, I have a vagina.

In lesbian porn, there’s no good bits and bad bits going on. There is a girl enjoying herself at all times and that’s something I can get on board with. I’m as straight as a ruler, I don’t care if it’s a man or woman going down on her – she’s having a good time and so am I.

Breast Side Story over Schindler’s Fist any day

Straight girls: it’s okay to like lesbian porn. It’s an uncomfortable fact for many that women watch porn and it shouldn’t be. We’re coming to terms with it more and more as a nation, that women can be just as sexually active as men. But the next hurdle isn’t just the act of doing something, it’s the thoughts behind it.

Your porn preferences in no way indicate your sexuality and we shouldn’t be afraid of exploring something that is new to us.

Yes okay, it is most likely unrelatable to any of our own sexual experiences, but the alternative isn’t exactly realistic either. I for one cannot remember the last time I became involved in ‘Male teacher punishes 4 students (with epic cum shot!)’.
