Radford bookies held up at gunpoint

Can you help find the culprit

Baffled Bookmakers were victim to a vicious armed robbery earlier this month.

Cashiers at Betfred on Ilkeston Road, Radford, were threatened by a man believed to be in possession of a firearm.

The incident took place on 8th February at 9.15pm. The offender fled the scene towards Ilkeston Road and Forrester Street.

The betting shop is adjacent to the Tesco Express on Ilkeston Road, and only a short distance from student housing in Lenton and Raleigh Park.

The man has been described as black, 5ft 5in and slim-medium build. He was wearing dark clothing but his face was obscured.


Nobody was hurt in the incident but the proximity of the attack to the student community is certainly concerning.If you think you may have seen anything relating to this frightening event then please let the authorities know.
