Nottingham named second best for grad recruitment in the country

It’s all going to be ok

We’ve been named the one of the top destinations in the country for grad recruitment – for the second year running.

Beaten by only Manchester, a group of the UK’s leading employers said they’d rather hire us than almost anyone else.

Who knows, the allnighters may actually be worth it

According to research from High Fliers, big brands including Red Bull, Dyson and L’oreal can’t wait to hire people with a Nottingham degree.

Despite a one place drop from last year, we beat out competition from posh boys at Oxbridge, Durham and Bristol.

Their study also found that the amount of grad jobs is set to rise by over eight per cent in this year alone.

Employers like these graduates

The average grad job salary is now at a mental £30k, with the highest unsurprisingly being in city investment banks, who are willing to fork out over £50,000 to bag themselves an alum.

Outside the city, the highest payers were Aldi who aside from giving you 42 grand, also chuck in a sports car.

Brad, a second year, told The Tab: “As a student, I’m really chuffed that we’re employable by top 100 companies and as a Northerner, I’m relieved I don’t have to go down the mines.”

Director of Nottingham’s Careers and Employability Service, Nalayini Thambar ,said: “I am delighted that the employability of University of Nottingham graduates is once again recognised by the Times Top 100 graduate recruiters.

“We look forward to welcoming top graduate recruiters to The University of Nottingham throughout 2015.”
