IMS Report: Penultimate Week
With the IMS winter season drawing to a close, The Tab Sports Team rounds up last weekend’s football results
Nightingale Seniors were on song as they beat a Labouring PoliticsSoc 4-3 during a game in which both sides defended Liberally. Nightingale are now flying high in 3rd place with just one game to go and are still in sight of the title.
NUFC 5th XI are developing into quite the team, blowing apart a poorly structured PhysicsSoc outfit. Last year’s Saturday IMS League victors HistorySoc are hoping the past repeats itself after their victory over PGSA, with The Historians managing to keep in touch with the league leaders.
Meanwhile, CU have done The Tab Sports Team no favours this week. They could have been on a heavenly Cloud Nine or shown MBC & BBC the seven deadly sins…instead, they won 8-0. Cheers boys.
In the Sunday Super League, Natural Sciences were beaten 4-2 by a really SUPA team. With a defence made up of Men of Steel and a flying attack, Natural Sciences just could not find cape with SUPA’s relentless strike-force.
History’s Sunday team looked just gr8 as they overloaded CompSoc. Like a Medieval battering RAM, History’s functional attack battled through CompSoc, whose defence failed to process their fire-power.
Down in Division 2, Geography students were given a typically easy task in their game as their opponents failed to turn up (potentially because no one knows who is supposed to play for a team called Living Out), while Florence Boot didn’t quite have the attack To See Them Through against JewSoc, meaning their title Days Are Over.
