Don’t Be Clueless This Season

Nineties style has returned in a big way! The Tab takes a look at the popular teen chick flick Clueless for a little wardrobe inspiration; carefully assisting you in achieving that Cher Horowitz look. 

“Sometimes you have to show a little skin. This reminds boys of being naked, and then they think of sex” – needless to say, Clueless certainly dispensed a great deal of life advice throughout its three years of airtime.

As we all know, tartan is a key trend this season. Team up an A-line, or pleated, tartan skirt with a big comfy knit and oversize coat. For evening, more club appropriate wear, throw on a crop top to achieve that grungy look.

Time to get hairy! Add a little texture to your outfit by adding a cosy furry jumper.  Pair up your favourite jeans and chunky black boots for a look perfect for a casual campus day.  Alternatively, fashion with some statement trousers for a great evening outfit.

Black and white is a safe yet classy option; you can never really go wrong with it. Jacquard or geo-print high-waist skirts worn with simple tops both flatter and complete this look.

Sports shirts and fishnet tops all encompass the recent American trend. Chuck on a mesh vest over a plain tee and strut your stuff in your favourite pair of kicks.  Create a boyfriend preppy image by layering jumpers and shirts together with simple skirts and trousers. Finish off the look with girly hair ribbons and bows to ensure a finishing feminine touch.
