Romance Nott dead in city centre

Local coffee entrepreneur espressos himself in grand romantic gesture

Love was in the air this afternoon as a local Nottingham couple got engaged in a truly adorable way.

20 year old Lee Vernon of Sneinton enlisted the help of a flash mob to ask for long term girlfriend, Sophie Shimwell’s hand in marriage.

Vernon organised the grand gesture with the help of the Nottingham Post and began recruiting over a month ago. The sequence began as the couple were perched on a step in Market Square.

They were serenaded by Nottingham based choir Quorus before dancers from Canal Street dance studio busted out a routine to a presumably average Jason Derulo song.

The crowd began to swell as the Derby Midshipmen Band, headed up by Jane and Mark Atkins, blasted drums and trumpets to congratulate the couple.

Roasts on Roasts- the happy couple in Lee’s Russian themed coffee shop and carvery

“I had no idea. I thought he might propose but I didn’t expect all this. It was so sweet” said 19 year old Sophie.

Lee, who owns his own coffee shop on the outskirts of Nottingham, spent weeks planning the elaborate proposal and was understandably very chuffed with himself.

The happy couple both updated their facebook statuses hours after the proposal

He has since updated his Facebook relationship status and the couple are looking forward to planning a wedding and a life together. The Tab wishes them all the best in their engagement.
