Acid attack victims land places at university
Katie Gee and Kirstie Trup both achieved their required results to get into university…
The victims of the Zanzibar acid attack have both been been accepted into university.
Katie Gee and Kirstie Trup received their A-Level results today, as well as under going skin graft operations.
Kirstie Trup found out her good news right before surgery this morning. Her father Marc revealed she will be at Bristol University next month to study History.
He said “she will be very pleased. Kirstie is very modest so I don’t think she will want to tell the whole world if she has done well”.
Katie Gee tweeted “on the plus side I’m off to Nottingham!”. She will study sociology.
Leavers Kirstie and Katie Gee were attacked on the island of Zanzibar where they were volunteering as teachers, when two men on mopeds threw battery acid in their faces.
It is confirmed that cleric Sheikh Issa Ponda Issa has been arrested in connection to the attack though he is not being directly linked.
