UEA student stabbed in the stomach during a fight outside campus

Three people have been arrested

A UEA student was taken to hospital for "serious injuries" after he was stabbed in the stomach during a fight outside campus.

Police were called to Bluebell Road at 3:00 am on Wednesday morning, where they made three arrests.

Two men, 19 and 20, and one woman, 20, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm.

The three were taken into custody at Wymondham police station following their arrest on George Burrow Road.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, is in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A spokesperson for UEA said: "These kinds of incidents near or on our campus are very rare. In any incident of this type we offer support to people affected.

"This is an ongoing criminal investigation so it would be inappropriate for us to comment further at this stage."
