Pimp My Barrow has banned wheelbarrows from this year’s event over safety concerns

Wheelbarrows will no longer be allowed at the event

Pimp My Barrow, arguably the best day in the UEA calendar is completely changing this year.

Having already banned the classic wheelbarrow race, UEA are now taking it one step further and have banned the wheelbarrows all together.

An insider at the SU, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared the news regarding the ban exclusively to The Tab Norwich.

R.I.P to the barrows, never forgotten

They said: "The SU feels that the health and safety risks associated with hundreds of students with wheelbarrows in the square and throughout Norwich are too great.

"The SU are considering changing the name. Apart from that, the day will be the same and all money raised will still go to The Big C."

This isn't the first time UEA has banned items unnecessarily. In 2016, the university banned graduation cap throwing.
