All classes at UEA have been cancelled because of the snow

The bad weather has made travel unsafe

In a tweet this morning, UEA told all students and staff that teaching has been cancelled due to warnings from police that travel was dangerous.

The uni has decided that the weather conditions in Norfolk endangered the safety of students and staff who may be travelling to uni today. An email sent to all staff and students said:

"While the roads are improving in Norwich and more drivable there are serious travel problems across the region and Norfolk Police are advising people not to drive, especially where there is drifting snow"

The buses to UEA are also still suffering problems, with the 25, 26 and park and ride services either running a reduced service or have been cancelled.

This cancellation is after a week of strikes by lecturers part of the UCU union, and some students are angry that they've missed out on crucial teaching time:

Even though uni is closed for the day, that means a three day weekend and an extra chance to go and play in the snow.
