SU misspells Stormzy TWICE in their latest newsletter

Mention my name in your tweets, oi rudeboy shut up

UEA Box Office issued their latest newsletter at 9 o’clock this morning, which declared more additions to the LCR’s lineup over the coming months.

The newsletter’s main subject was the recently announced Stormzy date which is part of his nationwide tour. However, in the email devoted to the topic, the SU misspelt the South London rapper’s name, not once, but twice.

What looks like a hasty autocorrect accident has unfortunately turned into a catastrophe. As if UEA didn’t already have a reputation as a institution lacking the ‘cool’ factor, it’s no been officially confirmed.

Upon being asked whether Stormzy might be offended by such a demonstration of disrespect, one third year said: “I hope he doesn’t subscribe to UEA SU updates, otherwise this might be quite embarrassing,” they said, cringing, “he might not want to come anymore.”

The fact that the rapper would even consider coming to our little Norfolk corner was a surprise in itself, with other dates including the much cooler Newcastle, Manchester and Brixton Academy. The LCR date has caused quite a stir with over 1,000 people clicking ‘interested’ on the gig’s Facebook event in the last 24 hours.

Stormzy’s date at the LCR was announced yesterday along with the rest of his UK dates, and it will be the rapper’s first time performing in the fine city. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
