When is the appropriate time to put your Christmas decorations up?

We asked you when’s the best time to get your baubles out

Whether you love it or hate it, it’s that time of year again and with shops and TV adverts promoting the festive season even before the end of summer, it can be difficult to resist getting involved sooner than you’d planned.

But when is the right time to dust down the Christmas decorations from the attic and start transforming your home or halls?

We asked the students of UEA what they thought was the most appropriate time to get the tinsel out.

Tom, second year, English Literature

“I wore a Christmas jumper last week actually!! But definitely from the 15th November.”

Cav, Second Year, History

“First weekend of December, like the 2nd or 3rd of December.”

George, Sian, Georgia and Sarah, MedSoc

“Oh don’t ask, I’d say July if I could! But mid November probably, you want time to get into the Christmas spirit.”

Is that a Christmas jumper, George?

Susanna, third year, English Literature

“December. Heard my first Christmas song yesterday and I was like no.”

Finley, first year, Philosophy and Politics

“December 1st. 100 per cent.”

Isabelle and Joe, second year, Film and TV

“December 12th and no earlier than that. That’s what my family do.”

Will, first year, Finance and Management

“I wouldn’t get the tinsel out.”

Scrooge

Gideon, first year, International Development

“I’m pretty chilled about it, the first weekend of December seems good.”

Harrison, second year, Biology

“The second Halloween is over mate. If it wasn’t for Halloween I’d have them up earlier.”

He’s definitely way more excited than he looks
