Master Chef is the best kebab shop in Norwich

You don’t need Greg or John to eat this food to know that these are some great cooks

Out of the dozens of kebab shops on Prince of Wales Road, my heart belongs to only one; Master Chef. From the first night out in week two of Freshers’ last year, it seems that Master Chef was always the go-to, and no one’s going to change that.

The Location

Master Chef is located right at the bottom of Prince of Wales on the opposite corner to DFC, meaning that it’s in prime location after a heavy night at Mantra or Loft. Granted, if you’re doing the walk from Propaganda on a Friday night then you may start to wonder if it’s worth it. But as soon as your feet step onto the premesis, you’ll know it was. Even better is the fact that once you’ve devoured your food and had your little post-sesh after party, taxis will be waiting for you right next door at the Courtesy taxi rank. It really couldn’t be any better positioned.

The Menu

All kebab shops will basically have the same menu, but it’s the price which makes Master Chef so special. Where else could you get a 1/4 pound burger with chips and a drink for £3.90? Or a 9″ pizza for £4? Or a doner kebab for £3.50? If you’ve got an answer for me, then I’d honestly like to know. But let’s face it, it’s not going to happen.

Look how happy she is with her cheap-as-chips purchase

The Staff

The staff is really what stands out about Master Chef. No matter how pissed you are they will always  listen to you and your mate chatting shit about your night, and somehow always seem to enjoy your stories. Even better than that, if your taxi has come early and you need to head off but haven’t got your food, just go and have a little word and they’ll run and make you that kebab faster than you can say thank you. That’s truly great customer service.

You don’t need Greg or John to eat this food know that these are some truly great cooks – I highly doubt there is any better place to get drunk food in Norwich. And even if there is, the customer service alone will pull you back weekend in, weekend out. At least now you know where to find me at 3:30am on a Friday night.
