Social Sciences lecturers earn over 5k more than Arts and Humanities

UEA pays its Social Sciences staff £5,000 more on average than their Arts and Humanities colleagues. 

The statistics are based on staff salaries for 2014, according to data exclusively obtained by The Tab.

Earning the least amount in actual salary are staff in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, with an average wage of £34,443.53.

Staff in the Faculty of Social Sciences, however, earn a whopping £39,498.18 – an increase of over five grand.

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences earns on average £36,581.56 and The Faculty of Science earns £36,154.71.

The average actual salary is based on the amount paid regardless of the number of hours worked and the average FTE salary is based on what would be paid if staff worked full-time.

The only Faculty to have had a pay rise since 2013, however, is the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

Their 2013 average salary was £34,278.51, meaning their 2014 wages increased by £165.02.
