Former UEA lecturer facing child porn charges

He will appear at Ipswich Crown Court

A former UEA Law lecturer is due to appear in court on charges relating to over 350 indecent videos of children.

52-year-old Julian Myerscough studied Law at the University to Postgraduate level before becoming a Criminal Law lecturer.

He is accused of three counts of making indecent photograph and pseudo photographs of a child. One of the accusations is said to involve 235 videos of children, with the second relating to nine videos. The final charge allegedly involves 38 videos.

Experts found he had also browsed child porn before visiting sites relating to classical music, cricket and narrow gauge railways.

No plea was entered during his recent hearing and his case was assigned to Ipswich Crown Court.

He was released on unconditional bail.
