So there’s going to be WiFi on buses to UEA this year

No more wasting your 3G on the journey home – free WiFi is here.

First Bus has announced that it will be adding free Wi-Fi to its services.

The change took place over summer when the company introduced a free WiFi service on their ‘Blue Line’ service in Norwich – which includes the buses that run from UEA to Norwich Rail Station.

UEA promises the service “couldn’t be easier” as students can sign up to the free portal on their device in just one minute.

A model of what the future might hold –  not the actual WiFi buses

Dawn Dewar, Transport Co-Ordinator at UEA, said she believes the addition of WiFi will “prove popular with all our bus users and further encourage use of buses as an alternative to the private car.”

Travelling to uni will also be made easier as First Bus announced major improvements to timetabling of routes that operate near campus.

No more of this, now you can do your work ON THE BUS

A UEA representative said, “The 25 service will now run via Unthank Road every 10 minutes from Monday to Friday and every 15 minutes on Saturday. All journeys from 8am-8.30pm will operate via Riverside (Morrisons) during the week following customer requests. There will also be extra buses in the early evenings and to the University on Sunday mornings.”

The changes will take place from Sunday 21st September, in time for the start of UEA’s academic year.
