Norwich & Norfolk Festival 2014 has landed and it’s time for us to get stuck into that East Anglian spirit. It’s the highlight of our county’s cultural calendar and though the event name certainly chimes a local bell, it’s internationally renowned for its multicultural performances which congregate here, in the city, from all over the world.

Norwich and Norfolk Festival stretches all the way through May with an incredibly diverse line up for you to enjoy each and every day. The cultural cocktail means that the city is full to the brims for things to do and see, from the exciting visual art performances and literary workshops to the all important live music, theatre and even circus shows. Whether you’re a Lit or Law student, there really is something for one and all!

Here are a few festival highlights to help get the ball rolling:

The Garden Party: Sunday 18th May
You’ll find a huge variety of entertainment at your doorstep as an ensemble of energetic performances come together to take over The Forum front and the Chapelfield Gardens. Alongside the acrobatics and dance, there will be a professional, ‘soap-opera style’ puppetry show which could give our infamous local ‘puppet-man’ a run for his money. You only need to pop down to the city to grab a slice of this gravity-defying fun!

The Garden Party is sponsored by Lafarge Tarmac

It’s your festival: Sunday 25th May
This penultimate day of the festival is going to be really exciting as it welcomes our home-grown talent to the stage. As you can imagine, the line up is incredible. The day features everything from burlesque and belly dance to live comedy and an array of local musicians. So where can you find it? Norwich is bringing you its finest acts across 5 iconic venues which include the Adnams Spiegeltent, the Chapelfield Bandstand, The Forum, the Gentlemans Walk and St Gregory’s Green. Plus, our handy-sized city means you can walk from one event to another in no time and really treat yourself to a range of what the festival has on offer.

It’s Your Festival is sponsored by Norwich BID

Here’s the bonus – these weekend events are FREE so there’s no reason to miss the undeniable opportunity to make the most of our city and its festival action this month!
