Who Run The World? Girls

Girls rule – at least on campus! The Tab brings you the full election results.

The Union will be feeling pretty smug tonight after a record turn-out at this year’s elections. 3041 students voted for who they’d like to represent them this year, up nearly 1000 from last year’s total of 2119.

Perhaps it was the relentless campaigning all over campus, which meant you couldn’t even enjoy your potato wedges in peace. Perhaps it’s the poor decisions you feel the Union has made this year (Natwest boycott, we’re looking at you). Either way, these elections have proved that UEA students care a little about politics after all (maybe).

And the winners were… the girls!

This academic year, all four full time officers have been males. But the tables have turned, and the ladies have triumphed. Three of the four positions have been won by women. The Tab sincerely hopes this means we will get a much heavier dose of Beyonce playing in the Hive.
