Muggers battered by fish and chip hero!

A Norfolk pub landlord fought off four attackers, without dropping his precious fish and chips!

A pub landlord fought off four attackers, while managing to keep hold of his fish and chips.

John Wood, 37, was stabbed with a screwdriver in Wisbech while walking back to his car from a fish and chip shop.

The landlord of a pub in Marshland St James, Norfolk, was approached by four young men at about 9pm. Mr Wood said: “They said, ‘We want your wallet’ and then my phone rang and they said, ‘We’ll have your phone as well’.

“The irony was it was my fiancee who messaged me saying, ‘be careful, it’s dangerous out there”.

While holding onto his fish and chips, the Norfolk landlord managed to kick the first two men in the knees and fight off the third man (quite literally) single-handedly.

The fourth attacker stabbed Wood in the chest with a screwdriver, but Wood managed to wrestle the weapon from the man’s hands before throwing it away.

After his ordeal, Mr Wood drove home and rewarded himself with his fish and chips before telling his partner about the incident.

Impressively, he didn’t drop a single chip!
