The ‘My Experience’ Series

I haven’t got long left here at uni and I want to do something good before I leave.

my experience

There are many students who experience a bout of depression during their time here. Many students suffer from an eating disorder, or experience addictions of one form or another.

Students who experience these sorts of problems often feel very isolated and alone in their struggle, due to this perception that every student is having the time of their lives.

This has led to a serious lack of awareness that students can and do have problems they have to deal with during their time at university.

As a result of this one of our sister publication, the Cambridge Tab, ran a series of articles this year which raised awareness about…

Coping with Depression: http://cambridgetab.co.uk/features/coping-with-depression

Living with Epilepsy: http://cambridgetab.co.uk/columnists/anna-isaac-5

Binge Eating: http://cambridgetab.co.uk/features/binge-eating-my-experience

Porn Addiction: http://cambridgetab.co.uk/features/confessions-of-a-porn-addict

and Self Harm: http://cambridgetab.co.uk/features/self-harm-my-experience

…and now I'd like the UEA Drop to do the same, and to also raise awareness of the fantastic services provided by both the Dean of Students and Nightline.

To successfully launch this series of articles has been a goal of mine since well before I founded this paper actually, and I really hope to have at least one such article published before I leave in a few weeks time.

So,if you're dealing with something which gets horrendously underreported in the media then please write for us and tell us your story.

You can write anonymously or make a fake account so you have a pseudonym to protect your identity if you wish to do so.

I know everyone has lots of work on right now so it may be a good few weeks before someone writes in, but I feel like I'm running out of time and I really want to launch this series before I go.

I know what I'm asking you to do is not easy but please get in touch.

Setting up a profile and submitting content like that is incredibly easy. But, if you really do struggle, then you can always just email [email protected]
