KAOS held their 5th annual fashion show on Sunday 25th. Fashion editor Kat Tarling went along to check it out!

Hosted by the gorgeous KAOS President Puja; the fashion show opened with Norwich vintage darlings Poppy Valentine, and swiftly followed by new shop on the block Ark. Ark had all their models working a sexy grunge look, with an abundance of leather and backcombed hair, and I immediately wanted to go out and buy the whole collection.

The first part of the show was interspersed with dance performances by Caberet, Dance Squad and the Afro-Caribbean Society- whose stunning performance and amazing booty shaking I still can’t get over.

House of Fraser then treated us to some higher end pieces including Howick, Biba and Armani, followed by a collection of bright florals by Warehouse, my particular favourite being the printed trousers. Retreat Vintage came next, and this was probably one of the most interesting collections of the night, showcasing a range of looks from the 50’s to the 80’s. I’d never heard of the Norwich based shop before, but as a vintage lover I will definitely be paying them a visit.

Next up was the highlight for all the ladies in the audience, a bunch of shirtless male models showcasing a range of jeans from Elements. (Not that we were really paying much attention to the jeans!) This was then followed by a brilliant performance from the talented Hindu Soc.

Revolutionz were next with a range of edgy ski and street wear. Followed by Norwich stalwart Jarrold’s department store, who created a cute and fun collection inspired by an American high school, using designers such as Tommy Hilfiger, Hobbs and Hackett.

Seeing as us girls had had a treat with the Elements models, it was time for the men’s turn. The very gorgeous (and brave) girls modelled the New Look swimwear range amid a chorus of wolf whistles. The show ended with the ‘headline act’ eco-friendly brand, Shhh Collective. The models practically danced down the runway to one of my favourite songs of the moment- 212 by Azealia Banks. The clothes were cool, modern casual wear and a dynamic end to a great show.

KAOS (Kids Action Overseas) have been running a fashion show at UEA for the past five years. All the proceeds from the show, and the other projects they run, go directly to children abroad who are living below the poverty line. They particularly focus on Kenya and Romania and a group of students go out every summer to help.

Thanks KAOS for a fantastic night, and carry on the great work you are doing. By the way, the curry stall was an absolutely fantastic idea. If you want to check them out, or are interested in getting involved, here is a link to their Facebook page.
