An ink thief sent divorce papers to my printer at 3am

‘It’s 10p a sheet. I will find you’

A traumatised fashion student had her night rudely interrupted when someone sent divorce papers to her printer.

Chanel Brown was sleeping in her Trinity Square bedroom when her HP Photosmart churned out three sheets of the legal document.

The culprit managed to send divorce papers to Chanel’s printer via a wireless connection at 3am.

Chanel shared her story on social media

Tab writer and fashion designing novice Chanel was left tired and confused by the uninvited document in her printing tray.

She told The Tab: “I don’t even know how to use my printer so I have no idea how someone else did, especially at that time of night.

“Maybe they were just letting me know they were single. Could have knocked, maybe even Facebook poked.

“Using my printer ink will not get my attention in a good way.”

Are these your papers?

“I’m more miffed about the fact it woke me up and wasted ink. However I am sad that someone made the decision to get divorced at three in the morning. And that they probably can’t now because I have the papers.”

The incident has left others in Chanel’s halls of residence worried and anxious, wondering whether their printer will be the next to be violated with documents they didn’t ask to be printed.

Tired, sad and about 40p worse off

With no answers and at least 30p poorer, Chanel wants justice for her disturbed sleep: “I’m in uni nearly all day every day so being woke up at that time wasn’t ideal.

“It’s 10p per sheet. I will find you.”

As the crime remains unsolved, Chanel has turned to her fellow writers for support…

If these divorce papers belong to you please email [email protected] and we’ll reunite you with them (there will be a fee for the stolen ink).
