Update: A man has been arrested in connection with the two stolen Jesmond cars

MacBooks and iPads were also stolen


Last Thursday three Northumbria University students had their house on Bayswater Road broken in to whilst they were out at Swingers.

Rachael, Jade and Ellie returned home to find that a number of their possessions had been taken, including two cars, two MacBooks, three iPads and two televisions.

When The Newcastle Tab last spoke to the girls, one of the cars had been found, along with some other items.

Laptops and televisions were also stolen

Since then The Newcastle Tab have been informed that both of the cars have been found and a man has been arrested.

A spokesperson from Northumbria Police told The Newcastle Tab: "At 3.43am on Friday (October 5) police received a report of a burglary at an address on Bayswater Road in Jesmond.

“Officers attended and found that offenders had taken a number of items including two cars – a black BMW and a silver Vauxhall Corsa.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with the investigation. He remains in police custody at this time.

“Both cars have since been recovered, as well as some of the property that was taken from inside of the address."
