Where to go for your 2018 graduation meal in Newcastle

Make the most of your parents footing the bill

If you're graduating this year and want to celebrate (or commiserate), eating some delicious food will be high on your list of priorities. We've picked out the cream of the crop so that you can take your pick and wave goodbye to the Toon in style. With places which fit a student budget and ones which probably require Mummy and Daddy to flash some cash, make sure you celebrate in style..

Silk Room Restaurant and Champagne Bar

Fancy but won’t break the bank.

Located at the Quayside and with it’s years of experience, it is guaranteed to impress the family that are celebrating finishing Uni with you.
With a variety on the menu from slow roasted local lamb to sea bream it will cater for everyone. With a three course lunch costing £23.95, you can’t go wrong really.

Fancy a steak to celebrate? With Miller and Carter offering 3 courses for £33.95 it’ll be fancy and not too far from the uni itself. Now the only decision is to decide if you fancy a sirloin or rib eye steak.

Look at the menu to help you make your choice.

Six at the Baltic

Food with a view

Enjoy your celebrations looking over the River Tyne. There is a great range of choice on the menu including for the vegans out there.

If there's a big group of you they do a sharing taster menu too, 'a taste of six'. Check it out here.

Pleased to Meet You

Can definitely get a good Insta caption out of this one.

Located at 41-51 High Bridge, this trendy but fancy place for food will be the perfect combination to unwind and celebrate your graduation in style. Their three course graduation menu has a choice of marinated lamb, braised turbot and linguine. A nice choice for all the family.

Jamie's Italian

Everyone's favourite Naked Chef.

Located right in the centre of town opposite Monument, this is a great choice for a sunset meal. With a range of Italian delights ranging from smoked salmon tagliatelle to spinach and ricotta ravioli there is plenty of lush food to choose from.

Also perfectly located for you to nip upstairs to the botanist for a cocktail too.

There will be absolutely no 2-4-1 pizza though, sorry guys.

Dabbawal

For all those cultured grads out there

With restaurants both in town and your beloved Jesmond you're spoilt for choice. Go out for tea and go for drinks in town afterwards, or treat your family to Osbourne Road.

Go for the normal menu or try the early-evening (5-6.30pm) deal where you can get two courses for just £12.95. Hello bargain.

Pitcher and Piano

Everyone's favourite Insta spot

With a mega cocktail menu and a delicious food menu, this is an all-round winner. Just having some light snacks or go for a full meal and watch the sunset. Then just wander back along the Quayside and work your way through all the bars.

Gusto

Perfect for some pasta on pasta action

Pre-order prosecco? Yes please.

The menu is predominantly Italian, perfect for some aesthetic Insta pics.

It is also surrounded by quayside bars which you can move onto until the early hours.

Better make sure Mummy and Daddy are paying for this one, because it's pretty darn pricey. Go wild on the A la Carte menu and divulge in some 42°C Halibut (wtf) or eat from the set menu for £25. Will also really up your Instagram game.

House of Tides

VVV POSH

With a Michelin star it's guaranteed to be tasty. It is going to break the bank but graduation is a time to celebrate. If you really fancy playing posh then pay extra for the wine pairing.. OR just pop next door to the Quayside Wetherspoons and have the best of both worlds.
