Man arrested in connection to armed robbery in the Jesmond Waitrose
It happened this morning
Izzy HallPolice have arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery that happened in Jesmond this morning.
According to a Northumbria Police statement, they received a report at 7.10am this morning to say that a man had entered Waitrose this morning, threatened staff and stolen 120 packets of cigarettes.
Nobody was injured and police are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
