‘Double dates with your mates’ the next instalment at Billabong

This week we matched four sexy singletons and sent them on their way to Billabong for a night of drinks, snacks and flirtatious fun.

Sarah Jessica Parker once said, "People go to casinos for the same reason they go on blind dates – hoping to hit the jackpot. But mostly, you just wind up broke or alone in a bar."

Meet the boys…

James Boustead & Charles Gray, Third Year, Chemical Engineering & Chemistry

How long have you guys been friends?

5 years

What is your type? Do you both look for the same thing in a partner?

Charles typically likes short and brunette. James likes a bit of blonde and a bit of leg.

What were your first impressions of the girls?

They were "fashionably late", we were optimistically early. They chose to sit next to each other, not very romantic. Pretty girls though.

Would you swipe right for them?

Yeah, would give them a chance.

Was it easy to tell which of you fancied which? You don’t want to be liking the same person!

Yeah, but we ended up chatting to the wrong ones anyway.

You went to Billabong, was this a good place for a date? What was the atmosphere like?

Yeah, we love a bit of doubles pool. Drinks were nice, got some nibbles, atmosphere was romantic.

What drinks did you have?

Kicked things off with a Budweiser, double G&T, then we were offered a complimentary mojito which we took with great pleasure. Next we thought it would be sociable to buy wine for the table.

Were there any awkward moments?

James tried to shake one of their hands when we first met them.

What did you like about them?

They were quite easy going and tried to keep up with our well experienced drinking.

Was there anything you didn’t like about them?

Unappreciative of the roses we offered them.

Snog, marry or avoid?

I heard they said we were marriage material…

Will you see them again?

Probably

No, didn't think about it.

They took us for £2 Tuesdays for their round. Cheeky that.

We don't really have a type? Usually they just have to be funny. We don't usually go out with similar boys.

What were your first impressions of the boys?

First impressions were good and they bought us a rose each so bonus points for that!

Would you swipe right for them?

Yes

Was it easy to tell which of you fancied which? Wouldn't want to both like the same person?

I feel like we all got on as a four but we both ended up with the same boy on Snapchat!!!

You went to Billabong, was this a good place for a date?

Yeah really good, nice drinks, nice food platter! A good atmosphere, Billabong surprised us with the cocktails so we still have no idea what they were (but they were strong), the boys had Mojitos and then we had two bottles of white wine between us.

Any awkward moments?

Not really any awkward moments.

What did you like about them?

We liked how smashed they got us, and they were really funny!

If they were a celeb duo who would they be?

Ant and Dec

Definitely not avoid, probably snog!

How did the date end?

We ended up in blanc for £2 Tuesdays, and bumped into a lot of their mates who all seemed to know why we were there which was funny! We got so drunk that we forgot our roses in Blanc which we were sad about! All round a good date and we would deffo hang out with them again.

Sounds like it all went swimmingly. Pat on the back for us.
