Psychology second year exam interrupted by fire alarm

What an interruption

Imagine all that time you’ve spent slaving away at the Robbo. Applying your concentration for weeks on end to prepare for your stressful Psychology exam. Well, imagine all of that time being interrupted and wasted when the exam comes, by the spine tingling horrific noise of a fire alarm.

Second year students at Newcastle University were interrupted by a fire alarm in their ‘Biological Psychology’ exam in the Medical School yesterday morning. The fire alarm went off for about 30 seconds before they were instructed to leave through the back fire exit.

The students were outside for five minutes before everyone was instructed to come back in and sit down. The students were given five extra minutes of extra time at the end of the exam.

A second year student has emailed the exam services to see if they can get extra consideration.
