We break exclusive stories which then have been picked up by newspapers and radio stations such as the Daily Mail, the Guardian and the BBC.

We write news and features articles which accommodates all styles of writing. You’ll not only have to opportunity to write for The Tab Newcastle, but for The Tab’s national and global pages, and also for Babe, which is the fastest growing empowerment magazine on the internet.

It looks great on your CV if you want to get into the journalism industry. There are regular opportunities to apply for internships at The Tab’s headquarters in London, as well as other news agencies such as The Sun and The Sunday Times. Pervious Tab writers have gone on to work at other companies such as the BBC, Sky News, The Times, Daily Mail, LADbible, Vogue, Buzzfeed and many more.

You don’t have to worry if you don’t study subjects like Media or Journalism. Our team study a range of subjects such as History, Urban Planning, English, Classics, Politics and Business. We cover serious news stories relating to university life, such as when two students were hospitalised after an university experiment went wrong. If you have an idea that you think students would love to read about such as that there are over 19,000 people watching a puddle online, or that there has been a raunchy S&M house party near by, write about it. In case you haven’t heard, our team are quite the creative bunch, coming up with ideas such as how to get hammered in a lecture, a feature that got over 850,000 views.

With idea or not, come along to our meeting that’s held at Spy Bar, Jesmond on Mondays at 6.30. If you haven’t already give our Facebook page a like. We welcome everyone and it’s a great opportunity to meet new people across all walks of uni life. We have regular socials and always keen to meet a new face.
