A graduate with Asperger’s Syndrome has gone missing in Newcastle

Friends urge people to contact Northumbria Police on 101 if they have any information

James Marshall was last seen around the city centre between 2:30am and 3:30am on Sunday 18th September. He’s now considered missing, having possibly boarded a train to London.

Jake Nevens’ post on Facebook – which James’ friends have been urging people to share – explains: “James Marshall has not been seen since yesterday and has sent some extremely worrying messages to a number of people, and we are massively concerned for his well-being. If you have seen him around, PLEASE CONTACT THE NORTHUMBRIA POLICE IMMEDIATELY ON 101. The case reference number for him as a missing person is 234, quote this when you call.

“There’s been a #FindJamesMarshall hashtag started on Twitter – if you have an account then please get tweeting.”

Jake told The Tab: “He is has Asperger’s, alongside suffering from a whole host of other mental illnesses and addictions.”

The post continues: “UPDATE (19/9, 9am): we still haven’t found Marshy (James Marshall).

“The latest is that he was potentially boarding the first train to London yesterday (Sunday) morning, on an evening he’d also taken LSD. This is a man suffering from Asperger’s syndrome and a variety of addictions and mental health issues, and as you can imagine, the more time goes past, the more concerned we get.

“If you have seen ANYTHING, please either share the photo below, or please get in contact with Northumbria Police (101) or Missing People (116 000) and quote case number 234. We simply want to find him and get him the help he needs.”

Jake said: “Apparently he took acid on Saturday night and then a load of people saw him at around 2-4am on Sunday morning tweaking out saying things like ‘I fucked up’ and talking about getting a train to London – there’s been no sign of him on the station CCTV”.

Regarding the LSD, Jake says: “I think at this stage it doesn’t really matter, it’s another factor that makes him all the more vulnerable and also might jog people’s memory if they saw a tweaked out bald bearded guy wandering about the streets of Newcastle.

“The major advantage of it being Marshy is that he’s a pretty immediately recognisable bloke.”

If you have any info at all, please get in contact with Northumbria Police (101) or Missing People (116 000) and quote case number 234.
