Some classes have been cancelled after city wide power spike

It hasn’t been working since one


Some of afternoon’s classes have been cancelled after a power spike that has affected the whole city.

The power has been gone since 1pm, and the uni are working to fix it now.

Newcastle University Student Services sent an email saying: “Newcastle City has experienced a city wide power strike and this has affected the circuit protection on some of the high voltage distribution cables that supply the university. We are currently working to restore supplies.”

Teaching will be cancelled in these affected buildings:

  • Agriculture
  • Herschel
  • Herschel Annex
  • King George V1
