Kate Ovens voted most influential student in Newcastle

Petite fourth year Kate Ovens, known for eating burgers around the country, gained 597 votes, around 80 votes ahead of second place.
The Tab Newcastle Power List aimed to culminate the most important people on campus. Kate will now feature in The Tab Power 250 – a definitive list of student influencers across the country.
The list, which is different to BNOC of the Year, showcased 20 important people on campus. Influencers included promoters, society presidents, brand managers, BNOCS and DJs.
In second place was final year Economics student Nikki Fry. As president of the Newcastle Economics society she gained 521 votes.
BNOC and charity volunteer George Snape came third with 445 votes.
Kate, who is also The Tab Newcastle’s Social Media Editor said: “I am flattered with winning and just thank you to everyone who voted for me.”
Newcastle’s BNOC of the Year will start again in May with nominations opening soon.
