Now, after confirmation from Downing Street, we can confirm that the alumni – David Dixon, from Hartlepool, died in the Metro blast in the centre of Brussels on Tuesday.

He had contacted his family back in England after the Airport blast to tell them he was okay, but then sadly died moments later.

The terror attacks in the Belgian capital on Tuesday claimed the lives of 31 people.

His family have stated that they “would gratefully appreciate it” if they were left alone to grieve, the BBC reported.

Tim Howell, CEO of Euroclear and David’s boss, said that David was “an amazing man who deeply loved his son”
