The “Shut Up” performer also donned a retro Newcastle United shirt throughout his performance at a sold out Digital.

Originally from South London, Stormzy has garnered a huge following over the past year, with other hits such as “Wicked Skengman 4” and “Know Me From”.

Digi was sold out for the gig

He’s had an impact here before, with the huge remix “Let it Stormzy” by two Newcastle DJ’s of “Shut Up” and “Let it Snow” at Christmas time.

With Digi packed to the rafters, crowds were chanting “Stormzy is a Geordie.”

And it’s clear that he enjoyed his taste of the Toon.

During his set, he said: “Newcastle is now officially my second home.”

Going on this, we should expect the big man with a beard to grace the city much more in the future.
