A Sainsbury’s is opening in West Jesmond
It will be opposite the Metro
Olly ClinkA Sainsbury’s Local will be opening in Jesmond this March.
A local builder revealed to The Tab that the store will be on the ground floor of the apartment building opposite the Metro station.
It will be built in the place of former cinema, Lonsdale Terrace and will be called Newcastle Jesmond Station Local.
A spokesman for the store said: “Sainsbury’s Local stores are convenience stores, and as well as bringing our quality offer, we will also be creating 20-25 jobs which will predominantly go to local people.
“The store will have strong links to the community and will choose a local charity which it will fundraise for.”
