We’re sorry: Tab condoms discovered to be defective

Product recall commenced and apologies to anyone affected (just kidding)

| UPDATED

The condoms we handed out earlier this year are defective and should not be used.

As part of a new promotional strategy this year, editors and writers have been distributing red-packaged condoms with The Tab logo printed on the front.

Following a series of concerns, these contraceptives have been recalled as some have proven defective.

The manufacturers told us the condoms had been known to split and ordered back all 1,500 we handed out.

We are incredibly sorry. Tab spokesperson Flora Spoil said: “May we extend our sincere apologies on the behalf of The Tab. This is an unprecedented fault.

“We are in talks with the producer to rectify the situation.”

Should you have been given any, please do not use them and feel free to contact [email protected] with any queries or concerns.

Approximately 1,500 were given out between October 2014 and February 2015.

For your reference, the condoms were distributed:

On the Leazes cowfields

At the sports centre/Ricky road crossing

At Tab events including the Tab launch party

Christmas party

‘Live’ for Life music event

Stuck up around uni

and at Tab socials in clubs.

Again, please do not use them and we extend our apologies.
