Join The Newcastle Tab team and be part of the site with 150,000 readers a week

Come write for the news site that everyone actually reads

| UPDATED

Do you want people to read your articles? Do you live having fun?

The Tab Newcastle is looking for new writers.

This week 150,000 people have read us. If you want to have your voice heard in the frontrunner of student news, come get involved (you may even get free booze and burgers).

We likes to party

Our delightful managing editor

We’ve broken huge stories this year, like the S&M/M&S party in Jesmond that made numerous nationals, the Russian fresher that was making bombs in halls, and we even sent one of our writers on Carnage sober (we’ll be good to you we promise).

No experience is required, we just want interesting and enthusiastic people to join our team.

You can write about pretty much anything you like in the student bubble, within reason, you just have to have your idea approved by the editor.

Fight for your rights using the Tab as a platform

You may even get to meet Chelsea Ferguson

A huge number of our writers have:

  • Had their stories in the national papers
  • Got in to the highly competitive City University to study journalism – every Tab writer who applied last year was successful
  • Got jobs at papers like the Mail on Sunday, The Times, The Mirror and BuzzFeed
  • Been offered work experience through Tab HQ at big national publications
  • Interviewed some of the biggest names on campus (and even a few celebs) to bring you those jaw dropping stories you love being distracted by in library

You can read what the big dogs in the media are saying about us here.

Joining The Tab gives you a huge advantage if you want to go into journalism, just look at our alumni.

We have a delightful managing editor in HQ on hand to help, so don’t worry if you don’t know where to start.

We also throw parties – both in Newcastle and in London – which you’ll be invited to if you write for us. This is in addition to our weekly parties (meetings).

If that’s not enough, have a look at more reasons why you should join us here.

Plus my granny loves the Tab
