Newcastle 9th vainest Uni in UK

Newcastle Uni students spending hefty amounts on looking good.

| UPDATED

Newcastle has been revealed as the 9th vainest Uni, with students spending over a whopping £400 a year on beauty products.

It comes as no surprise that students are fairly into how they lookHowever, a recent survey conducted by online beauty retailer Escentuals, shows that some students are spending over a grand a year on beauty products.

But Newcastle students aren’t the only ones spending excessive amounts on looking good.

Despite spiralling student debt, female students of Lancaster were found to spend a huge £1109 a year on make-up, fragrances and skin care, which equates to 20% of their student loan.

A double room near the Lancaster University campus can be rented for £65 per week, or £3,380 per year, which shows Lancaster students are happy to be spending up to the equivalent of 1/3rd of their yearly rent on keeping themselves looking hot.

York came in at second place with an average of £968 spent a year, closely followed by Durham students who averaged £895.

Meanwhile, it seems that the students of Coventry prefer to go au natural, spending just a fiver a year on cosmetics. We just hope they’re not the ones who wear nothing but blue eyeshadow.
