We love the EDL

The English Disco Lovers are drowning out the English Defence League in a very 21st Century way.

We love the EDL, the English Disco Lovers that is.

The English Disco Lovers are doing their best to ensure that “EDL” no longer means “racist idiots.” They’re spreading themselves all over the internet and Google bombing the English Defence League off search engines.

Help keep Google pure for disco lovers.

The group was founded by a few friends in London who decided to dance away discrimination and make the internet a much more difficult place to search for the thuggish English Defence League.

Defiant

One world, one race, one disco.

The group currently has almost 13,000 fans (to the English Defence League’s 38,552) and shows up twice in the first 10 results when Googling “EDL”. Fancy jumping on board the love train? You can find them on Facebook  and Twitter  or at their own site which launched yesterday.

“I don’t think any of us could say we were disco fans before, but as we’ve heard more and grown to understand the message, we’ve found ourselves identifying with it. Disco has always been a scapegoat for racism and homophobia. English Disco Lovers is turning the tables in favour of equality and respect.”

Splinter groups have also launched, such as the BNP (British Neapolitan Party)  whose aims include enjoying chilling and chilled foods. “It doesn’t matter if you’re pink, brown or yellow we’ll all chill together” is their strangely catchy motto.

This article will follow in the Guardian’s footsteps by contributing towards the effort to raise the web awareness of the English Disco Lovers and gain momentum in their SEO campaign, (nerd speak for getting results higher on google).

Sharing this article will also do the same, so why not share it and do your part to topple the fascists?
