All for one and one for halls

Liberty Quay management admit there probably was a sword in halls.

Liberty Quay halls yesterday moved to explain their false statement which stated that there were no swords on site when a swashbuckling student was arrested on Sunday.

Hall management circulated a note to students to slap down rumours of a swordsman on the premises. They even used capital letters to say there were ‘NO DRUGS, FIREARMS OR SWORDS on site’.

Capital effort chaps!

But speaking to The Tab last night, a spokeswoman for Liberty Quay management confirmed they meant no swords were on site after the arrest of a student. All dangerous implements had been taken away by the police.

The spokeswoman said no charges had been made against the student and that no specific threats had been made against other residents.

When asked about how the police were notified, she stated that another student may have been upset with the sword-wielding man and then notified the police because the student was, in her words, “a bit different”.

It seems that any hopes the student might have had of emulating d’Artagnan were eventually foiled by Old Bill.
