There is ANOTHER scam email being sent to students

Don’t be fooled by the ‘ac.uk’ email address

A few weeks ago a scam email was sent to many students at the University of Manchester, and it looks as though they’re back for another try

They are requesting bank details so that they can give you a grant from the university.

Unsurprisingly, there is no grant. If all of the bank details are given, including those you use to pay for things (the long number, expiry date and security code), then the scammers will be able to take money from your account.

This is the email being sent

Many students have fallen victim to the scam due to the official-seeming email address, however a couple of grammatical errors within the email give it a less professional feel.

All of you who have received this email are advised to delete the email without clicking on the link.

If you have any further scam emails sent to you, they should be reported to IT services at the University of Manchester.
