Man attacked as he tried to stop man from being beaten in Gay Village

Two men have been arrested following the attacks


Two men have been arrested after a man was brutally attacked at 2am on Saturday morning on Bloom Street

Police patrolling the area called for backup after a man was targeted and assaulted at around 2am Saturday morning. According to the officers he was verbally abused before being physically assaulted.

Another man, who witnessed the attack, attempted to intervine before being assaulted himself.

Greater_Manchester_Police_officers_in_Piccadilly_Gardens_(Manchester,_England)_2Both of the men were then taken to hospital by the paramedics. One was left with a broken nose whilst the other was checked over for a suspected head injury.

Two men, aged 31 and 24, were arrested at the scene for allegedly causing grievous bodily harm with intent, a section 18 offence.
