Man jailed after threatening to ‘knock out’ police officer who found him urinating in Piccadilly station

He received an eight week sentence

Benjamin Jones threatened to ‘knock out’ the police officer who found him urinating against a wall in Piccadilly Station

Jones, who pleaded guilty to urinating near platform two on Saturday 30th January, has been sentenced  to eight weeks’ custody.

His trial took place on March 1st at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court.

Someone clearly didn’t want to pay to use the toilets…

The court were told that when a member of station staff asked him to stop urinating, he became abusive. A British Transport Police officer then tried to remove him from the station. Jones responded by threatening to ‘knock out’ the officer and ‘eat his face’.

Lee Howard, the BTP’s investigating officer said: “Jones’ behaviour was completely unacceptable. This kind of vile, threatening behaviour will not be tolerated on the railway and as demonstrated by the custodial sentence handed down, can be dealt with severely by the courts.”
