Student hospitalised after brutal attack in Fallowfield

Three students were attacked after getting out of a taxi near Wilmslow Road


A student is in a serious condition in hospital after he and two friends were assaulted on their way home from a night out in Manchester.

The attack took place last Saturday on Carill Drive, Fallowfield.

The three had got out of the taxi at 4am and were walking towards Wilmslow Road when two men jumped out of their car and assaulted them.

They made it home safely after the attack, but one called an ambulance in the morning after he woke up feeling seriously ill with a head injury.

He remains in the hospital a serious condition.

Detective Inspector John Harris, from South Manchester police, said: “We are unclear of the events leading up to this attack which happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.

“What we do know is one man has been left seriously injured in hospital and we need help to piece together the moments before the assault.

“If you were in the area and witnessed the incident or have any information about the attack, please contact me as soon as possible.”
