Burning body found in skip near Gorilla nightclub

A male body has been found in a blazing skip near the city centre


A man’s body has been found in a blazing rubbish truck near Gorilla.

At 5.30 AM on Monday 15th September emergency services were called to a car park next to the O2 Apollo Theatre, a popular music venue for artists such as Disclosure that is near to Gorilla nightclub, to attend to a fire in a skip wagon.

The man found dead is believed to have been homeless and was taking shelter in the bin.

This information lead police to eliminate murder as a cause of death.

The Greater Manchester police told the MEN that “there is not believed to be any third party involvement and enquires are on going to establish the exact cause of death and how the fire was started”.

The man, in his 40s, is yet to be formally identified alongside a post-mortem examination.
