Budget Beauty: DIY facemasks
Put some weird ingredients meant for eating on your face and you’ll have lush skin in no time
The combination of exam results, miserable weather and work deadlines leaves us all in need of a little pampering. Why splash out on an expensive spa treatment when you can make your own natural face mask for a fragment of the price? For fabulous glowing skin, look no further than your kitchen!
Strawberries contain salicylic acid (a product found in many prescribed acne-medicines and products) and the yoghurt is perfect for soothing irritated skin.
. A few handfuls of fresh stawberries
. 5 tablespoons of non-flavoured yoghurt or sour cream.
Instructions: Firstly, make sure the ingredients are close to room temperature. Then blend the ingredients together (alternatively, mashing with a fork will do) and apply to face. After 10-15 minuites rinse with cool water.
This simple mask involves only two ingredients:
1/2 a ripe Avocado
3 teaspoons of honey
Instructions: Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in honey. Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse face with a cold flannel to close pores.
This mask can be used on all skin types. If you have dry skin, stir in a few tablespoons of honey and for oily skin, a squeeze of lemon juice.
. 4 tablespoons of non-flavoured yoghurt
. Three tablespoons of Oats
Instructions: Mix the ingredients together in a bowl and apply to clean skin for 15 minutes. Remove the mask with a flannel steamed in the microwave for extra cleansing.
