Loughborough Women’s Hockey Club hosted a ‘Chav’ social last night

They dressed up in tracksuits and hoop earrings

Last night, Loughborough University Women's Hockey Club were pictured in outfits mocking working class culture for their social, which was themed "Chavs and Babies".

This is not the first time such an event has been organised. Strathclyde Netball club recently had to change the name of their "Neds and Nerds" themed social.

The event was intended as a bonding session between hockey "mothers and daughters", as the older members of the club take freshers under their wings.

A committee member was contacted by The Tab but they declined to comment on the issue.

She said that the university are investigating the club for the offence caused, however this has not been confirmed. The university has been approached for a comment.
