Former Loughborough student, Tobias Ellwood tried to save PC Keith Palmer’s life after he was stabbed on Wednesday during the Westminster terror attack.

Mr Ellwood, who is now a Foreign Minister, was present at the attack on Wednesday. He ran to the policeman’s side in a bid to resuscitate him before the policeman was air-lifted to hospital.

Mr Ellwood was a student at Loughborough from 1985-1990 and was also elected as President of the Students’ Union during his time there.

The 48-year-old policeman, husband, and father later died from his injuries.
