The WiFi went down in Towers because rats damaged the cables

This is not a drill

Residents in Towers have been complaining about terrible WiFi signal this week, but it turns out it’s because the cables were damaged by rats.

An email was sent to everyone living in the upper levels of the accommodation two days ago, confirming that vermin were to blame.

This meant that internet was down during the most crucial part of the year.

The email read: “Known issue with the WiFi in Towers West from flats 16 and above. Problem is due to cabling damage caused by rats.”

So not only are there rats on campus, but they’re affecting our internet.

The university confirmed that there has been a vermin problem.

Ellie Roberts, Director of Campus Living at Loughborough told us: “Unfortunately there has been some vermin damage to the data cables. Specialists are in today.”

She added: “Once this is resolved we can then fix the damage.”
