Papa Si photograph results in Stainthorpe ban

Here we go again

Andrew Stainthorpe, who is running for the position of Union President, received a three hour full campaign ban last night.

Kushal Shah, the head of the Elections Committee, announced on Loughborough Campus Radio that Stainthorpe breached rule 2.3.7 of the candidates pack which states that any printed publicity in, or around Loughborough Students Union, or its tenants including the Purple Onion and Papa Si’s is not allowed.

This was in relation to a photograph published on Stainthorpe’s Facebook page as part of a larger collage. This was taken inside of Papa Si’s who is a tenant of Loughborough Students’ Union and he was also in the photo with campaign material, therefore breaching the contract.

Shah said: “The Election Committee have therefore ruled that he shall receive a three hour, full campaign ban beginning at 7pm on the 26th February 2016 and finishing at 10pm on the 26th Febraury 2016.”
