The definitive guide to the best Luff takeaways

Cooking is for the weak

No one likes a takeaway better than us Luff students. Even if the majority of us are athletes, we all need our cheat days.

But what happens when you find yourself in town with no access to the legend that is Papa Si’s? Here’s a guide to the best five takeaway places in town that really hit the spot.

Kebab Master

Can’t quite decide what meat you’re feeling after a Monday night at Brooklyn Bar? No problem, you can maintain the classiness of your night with the Kebab Master’s ultimate Kebab- the Mega Mixed Kebab.

This little (well, not exactly) beauty contains: Chicken, Lamb Shish, Chicken and Lamb Doner, Kofta, six chicken wings, six lamb ribs and three pieces of pitta bread.

Oh, and it also comes with a salad on the side as the people of Kebab Master know that we Lufbrarians like to look after ourselves. Clean bulking all the way.

Mario’s Pizza

Located directly beneath Firefly, Mario’s is a must after any night out in town.

Mario’s is famous for its poppin’ pizza and you’d be a fool not to try their Meatball Pizza before you die. However, your drunken cravings don’t have to stop there. Fancy a quarter pounder beef burger? Done. Feeling twenty chicken nuggets? Sorted. Have a hankering for twelve inches of garlic bread? Completed it mate.

Yes, Mario’s is a place of delicious variety that is sure to get every student’s taste buds tingling.

You can also satisfy the whole squad with Mario’s Special Student Deal: four medium pizzas, four pieces of chicken, ten pieces of spicy wings, two portions of regular fries, a piece of garlic bread, a tub of coleslaw and a bottle of soft drink all for £24.99.

But be careful. Their spicy wings are on a whole other level. When you’re 20 Jagerbombs down, and you fancy something with a kick, these wings will not solve your problems. They’ll leave you with a mouth so red raw you’ll feel as if someone has poured sulphuric acid down your throat. Tasty though.

Peter Pizzeria

For Luff’s fancier residents, a pizza from Peter Pizzeria doesn’t have to be a takeout- you can sit in and enjoy a civilised meal with your pals. Before a mad one at Hey Ewe of course.

A classic Italian Pizzeria that provides the Queen Margarita for those fussy eaters, and a pizza topped with tomato, spicy chilli, salami and smoked mozzarella for those all-time pizza enthusiasts.

Think it can’t get any better? Think again. Peter is perhaps the most innovative fella ever, as he has created a pizza that will go down in Lufbra history: the Peterella. If you have a sweet tooth then we suggest you sit down. The Peterella is a pizza with a normal sour dough base and Nutella.

Get it. You’ll thank me later.

Ming’s Kitchen

It’s Saturday evening and you’re still in bed, still hanging from that messy FND. The thought of actually getting out of bed is tragic enough, let alone the thought of cooking.

You decide to Netflix and chill with bae through the pain, but the hunger is too strong. What do you do? Order a Ming’s of course. Don’t be deceived by their name – the food is actually bang on. If they were basing their company name on the quality of the food, they should have called themselves Peng’s rather than Ming’s.

By far the tastiest Chinese take away in Lufbra, the Special Fried Rice will definitely ease that hangover. With other delectable dishes including Roast Duck Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Crispy Chilli Beef and Lamb in Satay Sauce, Ming’s definitely does not disappoint.

Don’t forget the prawn crackers.

Salim’s Indian Restaurant

Not a lover of Chinese? No need to panic- Looga’s finest Indian take away is here to save the day. Another classy joint where the option to eat in is available, Salim’s is the answer to your craving for fine grub.

However, you don’t just come to Salim’s for a Chicken Tikka Masala. Oh no. When you eat at Salim’s you go big- starters, mains, sides, naans, rice, the lot. Salim’s menu is packed with countless dishes.

Why not begin with a Chicken Pakora before moving onto a Lamb Rogan Josh accompanied by some Bombay Aloo? Salim’s also do a smashing deal on Tuesday- four courses for £9.95. What a way to prep for a Stuesdays.

Before you chunder it all up again after having one too many Nasties.
